Hi

First let me explain my blog name  ‘I don’t do  flowers’ is something I have got used to saying since my husband 5 years ago got his call to be a methodist minister and by default I became a ministers wife in waiting. Every time anyone hears what my future holds they ask if I can bake and do flowers. Well I can bake but I don’t do flowers.

We are now in the final stages of the ministerial training and by January will know where our first church will be and then move in August 07.

I hope that by starting this blog about the journey I am taking I will come into contact with other minsters/vicars spouses and be able to share the ups and downs and frustrations.

Perhaps some tips on flower arranging may come my way as well!!

Welcome to blogging! Haha very good about the flowers, I don’t do flowers or baking! Having supported other minister’s wives I think it is a important aspect though to consider what you do do well. There can be so much focus on the gifts of the minister that we forget the equal (yes equal!) gifts to all members of the church. So what do you feel are you special gifts. Love and support.

Welcome to the city! I love baking, but don’t get asked! I expect you’ve gathered we’ve been out of college for just over 4 years, and await our first move. You’ll find fellow minister’s and pastor’s wives around the city - it never ceases to amaze me how God puts people in our path to encourage, challenge and strengthen us. Please feel free to email me if you want to chat ‘offline’.

i’m a pastor’s daughter and a pastor’s wife. a few years ago someone said to me: “you don’t look like a pastor’s wife” and i said: “THANK YOU :) ” needless to say, i don’t do any of the stuff that’s suppose to be what pastor’s wives do except love and serve people to the best of my ability. enjoy who you are and don’t let people tell you how you’re suppose to act and what you’re supposed to do… let God show you.

    welcome to the community!

Welcome. What a great blog title. I am proud lo say I dont make jam or bake that is what ASDA is for. I do sometimes (but not for years) do flowers. This is nothing to do with being a ministers wife more to do with it being an art form.
My blog site is called Time to talk. You can find it at voxtropolis.
Do hang in there as you wait to be told where your husbands first job is. It is tough but looking back I know God had it all sorted. We are in the same position but 4years on. Its not easy but somehow the right thing. I look forward to your future blogs-I have added you to my blog folder.
